I wonder if the real estate prices will “tumble” slightly in the Algarve, as it could perhaps come exactly the other way around. We have experienced numerous enquiries from homeowners in Marbella who would like to move to the Algarve as soon as possible.
Other foreigners also feel that it would be more pleasant to spend the post quarantine time in the Algarve, especially as it is to be expected to see a second quarantine towards end of 2020. By then everybody would like to have their own little paradise in the Algarve.
We will see. It is quiet here and we have the advantage of being able to stay away from others. Apolónia supermarket is very precise when it comes to dealing with clients. UberEats, online deliveries and several drive-thrus (i.e. Worten, Staples) are very well organised.
Gambela’s hospital is prepared and there is a “drive-thru” testing facility at the Estadio do Algarve. All in all, I think there’s really no better place to get through this difficult time.
But at the moment most deals are in a deep sleep until the re-opening of the borders.
